Thank you, Daniel Rhodes, for giving us a virtual tour of the new Gerald Desmond bridge. The club will plan a field trip when the bike and pedestrian path is constructed.
Remembering Candace Yamagawa
We lost an amazing lady, friend, angel, and Rotarian. Candace Yamagawa had touched so many lives and brightened so many days. She worked tirelessly for the wellbeing of others in the community. She fought valiantly against cancer and despair. She will continue to inspire us and warm our hearts.
Joshua Hickman Briefs on Belmont Aquatic Center
The Coastal Commission just approved the design for this project. Lots of future fond memories are waiting to be made at this new facility.
The club is continuing to meet weekly on Zoom.
Spreading Holiday Cheers to Interact Students
Our very own Nancy Lauer and Julie Hammerness organized a gift drive for the Interact students at Nelson Academy. Other club members and teacher assisted in the delivery of the gifts to the students’ families while socially distancing.
Thanking Local Essential Workers
While our lives seem to be stuck in slow motion during the quarantine, the essential workers never stopped, keeping our community running and helping to sustain a sense of normalcy for all of us. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, the Rotary Club of Signal Hill celebrated some of the hardest working essential workers in our city. Members and friends of the Signal Hill Rotary Club organized a caravan to drive by the Courtyard Care Center, Signal Hill Police Department, and Station 60 of the LA County Fire Department.
This local effort was part of a multi-state Rotary International Rotary Gratefulness Week.
Rotarians and Family Clean up City
Responding to the call from the mayor of Signal Hill, members of the Signal Hill Rotary Club and their family members picked up trash in the block around Curley’s Cafe. The city is cleaner, one piece of trash at a time.
Providing Signal Hill Students with School Supplies During Pandemic
Signal Hill Rotarians continue to support local schools during the COVID-19 pandemic with socially-distanced community project. Members invite their family members to join them in the effort to transport and assemble school supplies for the Alvarado Elementary School and Nelson Academy.
Welcome Dick Fulton
We welcomed another new member to our club today. Mr. Dick Fulton is a dedicated member of our community who has already been participating in many service events sponsored by our club.

Signal Hill Petroleum renewed their commitment in supporting Signal Hill Rotary Club as Alexandra Rothwell accepted the membership certificate on their behalf. We truly appreciate their support through the years in helping us fund community projects.

Our club website is migrating from Wix to Squarespace, and we are getting a new URL that is more appropriate and easier to remember at the same time. The new URL is www.signalhillrotary.org
There will be more e-commerce features available at our disposal, and the overall navigation is more intuitive.
