Club Social with Governor Craig
Governor Craig joined our monthly social at Ten Mile Brewing Co, along with other guests invited by Kiran.
We enjoyed good beer, good pizza, and good conversations late into the evening.
Welcoming Ehsan
We’re excited to welcome Ehsan Zaffar into our club. Being the newest member, he brings more ideas with a fresh perspective to our club projects.
Sofia from the Interact club at Sato Academy also briefed us on the spring fundraiser to raise money for eradicating schistosomiasis in Africa. She has shown tremendous initiative in leading the club and we are glad to invest in their future projects.
Assistance League Fashion Show
The 2026 Assistance League fundraiser almost felt like a Signal Hill Rotary event, with a third of our club participating, including Ehsan, Bethany, Ricardo (from Jordan Interact), and Les. We even had our 2027 Mutt Run registrations as an auction item!
ASU Difference Engine Build 2026
Kiran, Jose, and Ken represented our Rotary club at Build Day 2026 in Los Angeles, led by Ehsan Zaffar and hosted by the Difference Engine. The experience was energizing — a full day of collaboration, learning, and purpose-driven innovation..
Sara Visits Rotary
Sara Gil, whom Les and Kiran met at the Turkey Trot last Thanksgiving, attended our meeting this morning with her beloved Mantequilla, a three-year-old Frenchie.
The warmth of our welcome almost melted the buttery service animal.
Charles and Social
Kiran, Ken, Kedra, and Les all visited Charles and May this Friday before the monthly club social at Ten Mile Brewing Company.
Charles was vibrant with enthusiasm amidst the visitors while enjoying his cheeseburger and shake from In-N-Out.
Charles in Charge
Frank and Les visited Charles and May the day following the Mutt Run, and we presented them with the Mutt Run t-shirt. Les brought In-N-Out burgers to share with everyone.
May was enthusiastic, and she put on the t-shirt immediately for the obligatory photo op.
In Rotary, we don’t just better the lives of strangers—we take care of each other because we are family.
Mutt Run 2026
The 4th Annual Signal Hill Rotary Mutt Run was a resounding success, as we held our signature fundraiser at Rosie’s Dog Beach this morning.
We had 257 participants, and Zoey (one of the adoptable dogs) found a new home!
Thank you to everyone who pitched in and made this event a reality, but especially to Bethany and Jeri, who coordinated every detail of this race.
RYLA Meet & Greet
Kiran, Ehsan, and Les joined a group of volunteers at the district headquarter Saturday morning to learn more about this year’s RYLA camp.
Evening Meeting at Canaan
We enjoyed authentic Chinese cuisine while meeting at Canaan Restaurant in Artesia, adjacent to the Garlic and Chives restaurant where Cerritos/Artesia Rotary meets.
