Where No One Has Gone Before

Lorie Grimes-Ledesma took us boldly to where no one has gone before. With the successful launch of the Artemis I just two days ago, Lorie launched her own exploration in space through the past 22 years working at JPL.

Liz’s husband, Steve, also works at JPL, and we had one of our most memorable meetings this year.

In an extremely timely fashion, the Amazon documentary “Good Night, Oppy!” launches next week on Amazon Video.

Be Our Guest

For the next three months, I challenge each member of our club to invite at least one guest speaker to our weekly meetings (or club social). Interesting speakers not only enrich our meeting experience, but it also introduces Rotary to our community.

Go ahead, the pandemic is under control (for now). Reach out and touch someone (after you sanitize your hands).

From Ukraine with Love

This morning, we are blessed with amazing, heart-wrenching stories from Ukraine, welcomed Liz Guerrini to our club, and blasted to the past with Charles Parks with his wife.

Bob Long’s Memorial

We celebrated Bob Long’s long life, full of love, kindness, and generosity. All those around him benefited from his wisdom. Being the quintessential strong and silent type, Bob said less himself than all those around him said about Bob. Even at his memorial service, we’re still learning more amazing things about Bob from each other.

He was a Rotarian, an animal lover, a philanthropist, a pilot, and a proud oil man. Most of all, he’s the most decent human being we have ever come across. We are honored to title our signature Rotary event in his namesake—the Bob Long Memorial Mutt Run.

There will never be another Bob Long, and the world is dimmer without him.

Give Us Givsum

Shawn from Givsum gave us a summary of the collaboration between Rotary district 5320 and the fundraising toolkit. In the process, we established new connections and relationships for future collaborating opportunities. We also welcomed a potential new member of our club, Liz Guerrini, at our meeting.
