Signal Hill Mayor’s Clean-Up
Kiran and Ken cleaned up Signal Hill this morning, and Ken did it even though he doesn’t live in Signal Hill.
That’s the spirit of a true Rotarian!
District 5320 Leadership Forum
Ken, Les, and Frank attended the leadership forum led by Governor Craig in Fountain Valley. They were inspired by the most generous clubs in the district and learned about disaster preparedness.
Yelp Supporting K9Kismet
Kiran, Jose, Kathy, Ken, and Les united at Sports Basement to support K9Kismet, our past collaborator for the Mutt Run.
We had plenty of good company, good food, and we even made some new friends.
Screening Interact Shirts
Jose organized the Interact students from Jordan High to make their own club t-shirts. Judging from the smiling faces and elegantly designed shirts, the event is begging for an encore for the Interactors at Sato Academy and Millikan High.
Shower Power x2
Bethany and Les volunteered together at St. Luke’s shower program for the homeless. Reliable volunteers who are available for on-going commitment are always needed.
The shower program serves approximately 100-120 individuals every Saturday morning from 7:30 to 11:30 am. Breakfast and basic medical care are frequently provided as well.
Vigil for the Survivors and Victims of Domestic Violence
Supporting the community of resilient individuals, WomenShelter of Long Beach hosted an event sharing their stories and celebrating their strength.
Frank, Les, and Kathy attended the vigil and honoring these courageous women and men.

Surrounded by family and friends, Charles Parks celebrated his 90th birthday at home.
The attendance attests to his professional accomplishments as well as his generosity and kindness.
People of St. Luke’s
Kiran and Les volunteered at the St. Luke’s shower for the homeless this morning. Les met plenty of wonderful people, and we even found a potential partnership with another non-profit that feeds the homeless.

2025 State of the City
Mayor Kier Jones presented the state of the city for Signal Hill at the upscale Long Beach BMW dealership tonight. The city may span only 2.2 square miles, but it more than makes up in heart and kindness. The civil servants work tirelessly to ensure a safe and prosperous environment for its residents.
As the client advisor at the dealership, Kam warmly greeted Ken and Les. In return, he was welcomed as a guest to the Signal Hill Rotary Club. Les is inspired to upgrade his 2018 Civic Hatchback to the sporty BMW 330e (0 to 60 mph in 5.7 sec).
Angels versus Athletics in Anaheim
Rotary District 5320 is raising money to end polio, and one way to do it is through ticket sales at a local baseball game.
Frank and Kathy celebrated with friends and family at the pre-game tailgate party.
